# vBETTER

> The planned receipt-token layer for future BETTER vaults.

## Status

<Note>
  `vBETTER` is **planned**, not live today.
</Note>

## What `vBETTER` is planned to be

`vBETTER` is the name BETTER uses for future vault receipt tokens.

The current direction is that a receipt token represents a share of a specific BETTER vault. If BETTER launches more than one vault, that can mean separate receipt tokens for separate vaults.

## What one token is meant to represent

The intended design is that one receipt token represents one net share of a specific vault after the vault's shares are created.

In practical terms, it is meant to be the transferable accounting layer for a future vault position.

## Planned issuance flow

BETTER's current direction is:

1. users stake the qualifying `$BETTER` amount and deposit into a future vault
2. once deposits are finalized, the vault share structure is created
3. the vault's receipt token is minted automatically

BETTER may use names such as `vBETTER1`, `vBETTER2`, and so on if different vaults need separate receipt tokens.

## Planned redemption flow

The current description is that receipt tokens are redeemed when a user fully exits the related vault position and unstakes the qualifying BETTER.

BETTER does not plan to support partial withdrawals in the initial vault launch, so the first receipt-token design is expected to follow that same full-exit logic.

## Accounting layer

BETTER plans to use **Enzyme Onyx** as the accounting layer for future vault receipt-token infrastructure.

The intended accounting direction is:

* Polygon-based accounting
* accounting updates tracked block by block
* automated mint and burn tied to the vault's share accounting

## Why BETTER wants receipt tokens later

Receipt tokens are planned so future vault exposure can become:

* easier to transfer
* easier to account for on-chain
* more compatible with future liquidity or DeFi integrations

## Pricing and secondary markets

`vBETTER` is expected to trade in the market once live, which means it can trade above or below the implied value of the vault it represents.

The exact premium/discount controls, arbitrage behavior, and secondary-market safeguards are still being finalized closer to launch.

## Availability

BETTER plans to add receipt tokens after the initial vault infrastructure is live and stable.

<Warning>
  Do not treat `vBETTER` as live today. The exact mint, redemption, and pricing mechanics can still change before launch.
